You Can’t Go Wrong with Jobox On-Site Storage

Posted by Truck Man @ 6:08 pm, February 15th, 2010

The Jobox brand is well-known for security, strength, and durability. In fact, Jobox is an industry leader in the manufacture of on-site and truck storage. Their on-site storage chests have innovative and practical features that set them apart from competitors. For example, Jobox has developed the Site-Vault Security System, which locks at three points and has cover plates protecting all three lock hooks. It also requires only one padlock for convenience, but surrounds the padlock with fully-welded 14-gauge steel, making the single padlock more secure than the double padlocks found on other storage. Joboxes also include EZ-Loader Skid Bolsters, allowing them to be forklifted from all sides, for maximum convenience. The bolsters also reinforce the bottom of the Jobox to help store heavy loads and to protect the box if dropped.

Joboxes come in a variety of styles, including the classic gang box. These boxes have heavily reinforced lids to protect against break-ins and support any heavy cargo placed on their tops. They have 1-inch locking arms to support lids when they are open, and staked and welded hinges with pins that cannot be driven out. Gang boxes also have recessed side handles to eliminate injuries when lifting the box, and to protect handles when they are not being used. Jobox gang boxes are available in a variety of sizes with optional removable trays also available.

Jobox Piano Boxes feature lids that fold up and back, leaving the top and much of the front of the box open. This configuration makes it much easier to store heavier items because the clearance height is much lower than in traditional boxes. Optional drop-front boxes are even easier to load, with a front panel that folds down into a ramp, allowing heavy items to be wheeled right into the box. Piano boxes have plenty of room for storage, with bins located along the sides and shelves along the back. Side and top handles are recessed for safety, and gas spring guards assist with the opening and closing of the lid. Side walls are thicker, with recessed edges that allow the lid to overlap, for protection from pry bars and moisture. Piano boxes are available in a variety of sizes, including a high-capacity box that is almost 5 feet tall and has 75% more storage capacity.

The Job Site Field Office is the largest and most complex of the Jobox models. It is over 6 feet tall, and its main door opens to reveal an entire workstation with plenty of specialized storage. The main door has stainless steel hinges and a door safety pin latch for extra durability and safety. The main compartment has an upper storage shelf, steel pegboard, side storage bins, and overhead tube storage. The large white desktop is easily propped up and has storage underneath. Beneath the main door, two additional doors open to reveal more storage space. These cabinets have stainless steel hinges and extra shelf storage built into the doors. A 30 cubic ft. storage locker can be accessed from the side, and stores objects up to 60-inches in length.

Get Your Van in Order with Specialized Work Van Equipment

Posted by Truck Man @ 3:00 pm, January 18th, 2010

Work vans, by necessity, have a lot of open cargo space. However, if this space isn’t managed well, it can become disorderly, inefficient, and even unsafe. You can change all this with a few choice accessories specifically designed for a work truck’s exterior and interior. Check out Amer-Rac’s Van Ladder Rack. Made specifically for vans, this ladder rack features heavy-duty steel side plates that mount to your van’s rain gutters for a no-drill installation. Each upright is 8-inches wide, which provides better weight distribution. These racks come in two or three piece sets, with the third rack being recommended when extra support is necessary. With all three crossrails in place, 1,000 lbs. of cargo can be safely transported and adjustable tie-down loops are also provided to keep cargo securely in place.

The inside of your van can also be readied for storing necessary work equipment or cargo. Amer-Rac’s Vistas line is a complete line of storage solutions for work vans. Their Van Interior Shelving is made of 16-gauge steel with a tough, gray powdercoat finish. The shelves come in a variety of lengths, widths, and heights, so they can be configured for a customized set-up. Assembly is required, but is fairly easy with instructions and hardware included. An assortment of shelf accessories like dividers and bin boxes are also available to complete your arrangement.

Vistas also makes Tank Holders designed to safely store and transport any commercial tank, from a small fire extinguisher to a 50-lb tank of Freon. These holders are constructed from 11-gauge steel with gray powdercoat finish and come in a range of sizes. The holders protect the tank, gauges, and hoses from damage and keep the tanks stored in an upright position. Each holder comes fully assembled and ready to install into your van. So determine what you need to maximize the efficiency of your vehicle. A few simple add-ons can keep you well-organized, saving space and time.

Each STK Over-Rail and Under-Rail Bedliner is custom-designed for a factory perfect fit in domestic and import pickups. These Bedliners are molded of durable, high density polyethylene (thermoformed) with skid resistant technology, to last as long as your truck. The high-ribbed floor pattern is designed to promote drainage and create additional cushioning against denting – a feature that you don’t get with other types of bed protection. “SR” skid resistant technology helps keep loads secure and doesn’t wear off.

Every STK Line-A-Bed Features:

  • Lifetime Warranty
  • True Customized Fit on Every Model
  • Molded-In Supports for Two-Tier Stacking Help Keep Loads Secure
  • No Hardware Required for Under-the-Rail Bedliners (Liner Snaps into Place Under the Truck Rails)
  • No Assembly Required for Over-the-Rail Bedliners (Just Press Six SnapFast Clips into Pre-Slotted Holes)
  • Rich Black Finish
  • “SR” Skid Resistant Surface Helps Keep Loads Secure

Outlined below are some things to consider when comparing an STK drop-in bedliner to a spray-on bedliner.

- Protection from a Drop-In Bedliner
* Shock absorbing ribs (protection against dents, scrapes)
* Chemical resistant
* Thicker sidewalls
* Consistent thickness and hardness of liner material
* Protects paint finish, prevents rust
- vs. a Spray-In Bedliner
* Prone to damage from dents
* Scrapes/abrasions can expose bare sheet metal
* Thickness dependent on application technique & skill of installer
* Truck bed must be damaged by sanding paint finish (if not done properly, rust will form)

- Skid Resistance and Cargo Control from a Drop-In Bedliner
* STK’s co-extruded skid resistant material is virtually wear proof
* Molded-in supports for 2-tier stacking and lock-in loading
- vs. Spray-In Bedliner
* Skid resistance may wear off from use
* UV inhibitor reduces skid resistance
* May prohibit use of original equipment features like 2-tier stacking

- Your Investment of a Drop-In Bedliner
* Considerably less expensive than spray-ons
* Better resale value/protects investment
* STK Nationwide Lifetime Limited Warranty
- vs. a Spray-In Bedliner
* High cost (2-5 times more costly than drop-in bedliners)
* Costly UV inhibitor must be purchased and applied annually
* May reduce resale value
* Installation may void paint warranty
* May cause “excess wear” charges on leases

- The Durability of Drop-In Bedliner
* Tough, high density polyethylene
* Rich black finish is resistant to UV fading with no yearly maintenance
* Scratches in drop-in bedliner do not contribute to rust (protects factory finish)
- vs. a Spray-In Bedliner
* Durability is dependent on the skill of the applicator
* Fading may occur without annual application of UV inhibitor
* Susceptible to dents and scratches which contribute to rust

- Ease of Use for a Drop-In Bedliner
* Quick installation
* Easily removed
* No drilling or paint removal
* Just plain easy!
- vs. a Spray-In Bedliner
* Difficult and time-consuming to install
* Permanent (cannot be removed)
* Must be installed by trained professional in a controlled environment
