Traveling For the Holidays?

Posted by Truck Man @ 3:36 pm, November 16th, 2009

The upcoming holiday season means spending more time with loved ones, which can mean spending a lot of time on the road. Whether it’s half an hour or half the day, it can seem a lot longer if you are not prepared. Even if you have made your list, checked it twice, and are certain you have thought of everything, you still need somewhere to put all your luggage, presents, homemade dishes, games, snacks…

If this sounds like it could be a problem for you, then you should think about investing in a Hitch Mounted Cargo Carrier. The Deluxe Folding Hitch Basket from Valley is made of heavy-duty tubular steel with a durable Black Powdercoat finish. It measures 5 feet by 20 inches with sides twice as high as the standard to hold cargo more securely in place. Exclusive to this model is a folding shank that allows the basket to be folded up when not in use.

Another alternative is a Roof Rack. Mont Blanc manufactures roof rail load bars that can sustain up to 220-lbs. on most vehicles. These load bars fit many popular models of OEM and aftermarket roof racks and rails. There are two different styles of load bars, Rectangular and AeroWing. The Rectangular rails come in three sizes for a great fit, and are made of galvanized steel with black vinyl covers. The AeroWings are made of anodized aluminum with black vinyl inserts. Both models come with rubber-padded clamps to protect roof rails from damage and have a theft-proof locking clamp.

If you’re traveling with your pet this year, a Pet Barrier may be helpful. A pet barrier keeps your animal in the back seat or hatchback area of your auto. This makes pet transport much safer, as they cannot push their way into the front seats or cause other distractions. It also can keep pet hair more contained so it won’t make a mess of your holiday clothes. Highland’s pet barrier has a modern, open design that keeps animals out of your seats without making your pet feel caged in. It is constructed of sturdy, heavy-gauge tubing, and installs in minutes. Don’t let holiday travel stress you out when a few simple accessories can make all the difference!

Tackle your tailgating this fall with some “must have” Truck Accessories from BuyAutoTruckAccessories.com. Make hauling all your gear to the big game a cinch with a Truck Bed Extender from Bestop. These truck bed extenders are made of super-strong aircraft aluminum and high-impact composite nylon, making them extremely tough. They instantly add 2-feet of length to your truck bed to give you plenty of extra room for packing fold-away chairs, coolers, and grills.
Need to squeeze another person into your backseat? Not a problem! Just move your coolers, containers, and bean bag boards to a Hitch Basket and you’ll have plenty of room. Sounds like a “winner” to me!
A Hitch Cargo Carrier is another great alternative for storage! Rola’s Adventure System can be used as a cargo tray or can be converted into a lockable storage pod, providing extra security. You can be sure to keep your tail-gating gear safe when you’re enjoying the game inside the stadium. The pod provides 13.5 cubic feet of space and is weather resistant, so your foam fingers will stay safe and dry! Also, check out the swing feature which allows easy access to your trunk.
So this fall, before you don your jersey and put on your face paint, remember to shop BuyAutoTruckAccessories.com for the gear you need to score BIG points with your tailgating crowd.

Dog Days of Summer - What Now?

Posted by Truck Stuff @ 12:20 pm, August 5th, 2008

Now that we are into the Dog Days of Summer, it is time to start thinking about what follows. If your kid(s) are going to college then you need to plan out how you are going to get all of their stuff back to school. This is when a hitch basket comes in handy. If you have a roof rack, then a roof basket is ideal because it can hold all of your stuff. If you need to keep everything dry and secure then a roof top box would probably be better. Valley Industries makes quality towing and cargo products and carry everything listed above.

But what if you have younger children…. You know you will be driving them back and forth to the soccer and/or football fields. A cargo net will probably come in handy as well as floor guards. Remember how the mud just accumulates on your vehicle’s carpet. Floor mats and guards keep your carpet like new, plus, you can just pull out the guards and hose them down. Nifty Catch All Xtreme mats really do the trick.

Before you know it, it will be fall and it usually tends to be rainy and foggy. This is when fog or driving lights come in to play. Hella makes some really great lights which will increase your comfort level when driving the kids around. Rain Guards, of course, are a no brainer. They are useful for any season; always keeping the rain and weather out while letting the fresh air in.
